Career: Academic Staff, Munro College 1958-59; Jamaica College 1959-60; Overseas Research Officer, Jamaica Industrial Development Corporation (European Offices) 1960-62; Private Legal Practice 1963-72; Member, Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate 1969-70; Elected Member, Jamaican House of Representatives, appointed Opposition Spokesman for Youth, Sports & Community Development 1970; National Campaign Director, PNP 1972 , 1976 & 1989; Minister of Industry & Tourism 1972-77; Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade 1978-80; Deputy Prime Minister of Jamaica 1978-80 and 1989-91; Minister of Development, Planning & Production 1989-90; Minister of Finance & Planning 1990-91; Chairman, People's National Party 1983-92; Admitted to the Privy Council in December 1992.
