Visa Requirements for Jamaicans

For British Visa:
Passport
Invitation Letter
Bank Statement (from person in U.K. is fare is being paid from that end) or
Your own Bank Statement if you are paying the fare
2 Passport size photos
Application fee of J$1,815
Job letter
Evidence of ties and/or assets, e.g. marriage, children, house, car, etc.

...... Take all the above to the British High Commission, Trafalgar Road, between 8.00 and 10.30 a.m. any day Monday through Friday. After filling out a form there you you will be interviewed and a decision taken same day.

For Canadian Visa:
Passport
2 Passport size photos (black & white or colour)
Job letter or business documents if self-employed
Bank book and bank statements
Travel itinerary
Proof of assets - house, car, land etc.
Fee of J$1,375 single entry or J$2,125 for multiple.


...... Go to the Canadian High Commission on Knutsford Boulevard any day Monday to
Thursday between 7.30 and 10.30 a.m. or 1.00 to 2.00 p.m., pay the cashier, hand in
documents and you will be given an interview date which must be for 7.30 or 9.00 a.m. A
decision will be taken same day right after the interview.

For U.S. Visa

Take your Passport to the Visitor's Visa Section of the American Embassy at 16 Oxford Road any day Monday through Friday between 7.15 and 11.30 a.m, and make an appointment to return the following day for an interview, taking with you:

Passport
Completed Visa Application Form (which was given to you the first day)

Receipt for the equivalent of U.S.$20 paid by you in J$ at any Branch of NCB Commercial Bank for processing fee

Two (2) colour passport size photographs
Employment letter
Bank Statements, Bank Books, Property titles
Any other proofs of ties in Jamaica and anything pertaining to the purpose of the visit to the U.S.

Children 6 years of age and over must appear in person. A parent or legal guardian of each child applying for a visa must appear in person and bring official papers documenting the relationship, such as birth certificates or court documents showing the legal guardianship.

If an applicant qualifies for a visa, it will normally be ready for pick-up the next business day at 3 p.m.

Applicants for student visas must be in possession of a valid, original I-20 Form issued by their school. They must also be able to prove that they have sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses for the first year of study.

Applicants with multiple-entry visas valid for one year or more and which expired within the past 12 months may drop off their passport, along with their fee receipt and completed application, any business day from 7.15 to 11.30 a.m. The visa, if issued, would normally be ready for pick-up in 3-5 working days.
